Tonight, a special solo commentary, and it's the the one you've all been waiting for! Yes, it's the Milla-tastic Fifth Element! Contrary to what many in the audience and even my co-host may think, I did not spend the whole time drooling, instead mixing some witty repartee in there too. Hopefully I got the timing cues right, if not let me know and I'll work on tightening it up for the next go. Enjoy!

This week we're starting out our movie special by taking a look down the road at some upcoming projects, both completed and proposed. "Re-imaginings," remakes and sequels alike come under our reliably harsh scrutiny. It's a mixed bag in this case, with some projects looking very good and others quite poor. After that, we're tackling two recent high profile films: Speed Racer and Indiana Jones 4. We each have very strong opinions on these films, and we're not pulling any punches in either case. Audiences seem pretty divided on these movies, so this will probably be a love-it-or-hate-it show. As always, we want to hear what you think. Enjoy!

This week it was tough to categorize the show, since we covered a lot of various ground. In essence, though, we started with the idea that nothing is sacred anymore. The starting point for the show was the abominable progress on the American version of the anime classic Akira. Early details on the production have driven us both insane, as they show little regard or understanding of the source material. This started us wondering if there is any reverance for anything on this planet anymore. We're also going to post the wallpaper contest results so keep an eye out!

Here's the page of 300 gifs I had a heart attack laughing at.

This week we've got a blockbuster on our hands, an all out action bonanza that will blow you away! Nah, not really, but it was a fitting start to what we are covering: our list of truly notable directors. We go through a good group of old and new directors, some with huge bodies of work and others just starting out, but all quality. Of all the 'list' shows we've done, this one may generate some delicious dissent among our listeners. There are a few obvious choices, as there always are, but I think we popped a few surprises in the mix as well. As always, let us know what you think!

This week Lando and I are taking a hard look at the sophomore run of one of our favorite shows, Heroes. While Season 1 was an almost ideal example of how to make a superhero show, Season 2 was...well, less than ideal. A minor spoiler warning here, we do discuss in vague detail some major plot points as we examine what went right and what went wrong in this second season.

For Show 44 we delve into the surprisingly deep mire that is television these days. From content to culture, we examine where the boob tube is currently and where it may be heading. Are we on the brink of a new era, where we see the transformation of an iconic technology into something almost unrecognizable? Or will TV more or less always be the way it is, a creation that hit the nail so squarely on the head that it needs no evolution? More importantly, what value should this often vapid landscape hold for us as individuals?

This week we got a fun one for ya. We're taking a look at the portrayals of the damned and the divine in film this go-round, examining the cinematic visions of God, Satan, angels, and demons. We're covering all genres and genders as we rank what we think are the best examples of these mystical entities  on the big screen. In the process, we uncover the amusing truth that the most powerful of all these celestial characters is also the one who sees the least screen time. Could this be another of the greatest tricks the Devil ever pulled?

This week Lando and I are turning over rocks in the rotten swamp of crappy movies, exposing some of what we feel are the worst movies out there. These films have it all: bad acting, terrible plots, and even one flick where the lighting is so bad you can't see anything (though that may be a blessing). Look at this show as a public service, an impassioned warning that watching any of these movies could result in severe mental trauma. Please, good people, don't be victims of this scourge.

After a week off for vacation, Lando and I are back with a lighter show, coming back to a world we love to visit: the movies. This week, we're taking a trip down the path less traveled, as we shed some light on 15 films we find to be left off the marquee. We're throwing in some personal favorites, and also some that we both agree on. Butter up the popcorn and take a load off, you're about to take a trip with us to the Cinema Oscuro.

UPDATE: By request, here are the films in order of appearance:

Ichi The Killer
Electric Dragon 80,000v

Harley Davidson & The Marlboro Man
The Big Blue
Holy Smoke

This week we're covering some lighter ground as we take a look at the future (or lack thereof) of the Star Trek universe. Have the weakening TV series and underwhelming recent films doomed the once golden franchise to the annals of history? Or has the time come to let the Trek faithful save the listing Enterprise?

For the eleventh show we're running down our top 10 list of movies we'd take for an extended trip to a desert island. These are not the necessarily the best movies we've ever seen in terms of quality, but they are films we find ourselves watching again and again.

For the tenth show we're taking a truly no holds barred examination of what's behind the steady decline in movie patronage and the general rot that seems to be spreading throughout modern entertainment media.
