This week Lando and I start off talking about the morality of video games, good and bad. From there we move into the murky world of magic, where rules are few and crappy implementations are many. Speaking of magic, we take some time to spotlight the magic blend that makes The Daily Show and The Colbert Report so good, and whether that formula could be replicated by anyone else. After that, some debate on the merits of content exclusivity and finally a bit of site news about the recent changes around here. Enjoy!

I just want people to try and do something creative and fun, be it to the cool end of the measuring stick or the silly end. What kind of visual mediums were you thinking Dmi? Joe and I are in no way cosplayers, I just thought there was no better way of throwing dignity to the wind then breaking out the tights and saying, \"I\'m going to save the world...or at least look like it lol.\" I find that when I delve into the fun and the ridiculous its oddly liberating. So, explain to me more what you were thinking. I am all for listener inspired evolution on the concept.

Problem is I don\'t quite know what I mean by \"other medium\" - my only quarrel is that a single photographic image is kind of limiting in term of visual creativity, at least to me. I want to expand on the subject and put in more in terms of content, exposition and structure. Street art, graffiti, public performance? If I end up submitting something that doesn\'t quite fit your criteria, will you disqualify me?

As for looking ridiculous - I think it takes balls to do it and a kind of maturity that I am not sure I possess as yet. I think you touched on that subject once.

Sorry for the late comment, things have been a bit busy at work, but include me in the competition, although I\'m not into dressing up so much, but I\'m definitely willing to photoshop myself into silliness. I\'ve already considered a couple of ideas that I might start playing with, whether the competition goes ahead or not.

On video games, I play mainly driving games on my old PS2, if I feel like taunting the police, I have a go at Need For Speed Most Wanted, if I want to race, I put GT4 in, but they don\'t make me go out and go nuts in my car. Games don\'t kill people, people kill people.

This competition idea is great, guys! I will gladly participate if you don\'t restrict it just to the comics/video games characters or to single dress-up shots (not all of us are cosplayers)... Maybe you can expand it to include more visual mediums under the general theme of \"Comics Life\" or some such? Hope this thing works out!
